Where is your hometown?
Where did you attend undergraduate school and what was your major?
Do you have any particular interests?
What are your favorite typeface(s) and why?
Do you identify with any particular designer? Why?
Why have you chosen MICA to further your graphic design education?

I grew up on Martha’s Vineyard, but moved more recently from Portland, Maine. I love it there. I have five schools on my official transcript. I graduated from Bennington College with a BA, where I studied global systems of oppression and mixed media fine art. I also studied at Maine College of Art, where I received a BFA in Graphic Design. I am interested in information design, design for social change, and extraordinarily well-crafted handmade objects. I am particularly fond of Futura because of its geometric simplicity, and also for the era it draws from. I don’t identify with a particular designer, but I hope to someday soon. Stay tuned. I was drawn back to MICA (I studied here for my first three semesters of undergraduate) because of the intellectual rigor of the artist community. Throughout the past 11 years I have gone down many different paths. and have found that the time I was the most focused was while here. I am excited by the structure and leadership in the program, as well as the breadth of possibilities the program offers.
