Silas Munro comes to MICA

Class of 2017, Alter Ego Video Stills

For the fifth consecutive year, MICA’s Graphic Design MFA program welcomed Silas Munro to campus as a visiting designer, September 11-13, 2015. In a three-day weekend workshop, Silas launched our “Alter Ego” project, challenging MFA designers to create a new, imaginary design psyche. This year’s workshop included improvisation exercises and video interviews exploring each persona’s dreams and aspirations. In the weeks to come, MFA designers will use their “Alter Egos” as points of departure in an extended project (directed by Jennifer Cole Phillips and Jason M. Gottlieb). Each designer will author a new work from a new point of view.
