In this public project, GD MFA designers created short looping visitors to post on Instagram, celebrating the opening of Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum’s exhibition How Posters Work (May-December 2015). The videos were released on Instagram over a period of months by Cooper Hewitt’s social media director, Greg Gestner. Collectively, our videos garnered thousands of likes and helped build interest around the exhibition. Each video explores one of fourteen design concepts that form the basis of the exhibition, from “Focus the eye” and “Activate the diagonal” to “Tell a story.” Exhibition curated by Ellen Lupton.
